He probably thought neither team offered the right amount of money; however, no other team seems to being showing interest. So, he he either signs with us or the Niners, or he waits it out and hopes someone needs a corner before the season starts due to poor performance or injury.

He has a very specific skill set. It's not worth signing him unless your coverage scheme is press man.

I think we're seeing the results of GMs finally learning that it isn't worth the cap hit to overpay aging vets. Osi, Abraham, Freeney, etc all still have skills but they don't have any upside left. The more you pay, the more you escalate your downside risk with these guys. I believe this scenario of these type players languishing on the market will become more common in the future. They simply have to learn their market value may only be half or one quarter of what it once was.

That's prolly the same thing with Nmandi and the CBs. Quentin Jammer hasn't even got a visit/sniff. Antoine Winfield, Brett Grimes, Deangelo Hall, Porter, etc are seeing the same thing with the older CB market.

Is Drew signing on Friday? Is SP coming back somewhere between weeks 8-11? Because someone had sources that told them that too.

Ravens signed FS Michael Huff to a three-year, $6 million contract.

The highly athletic Huff was forced to play corner for the talent-depraved Raiders last season, but he'll slot in as Ed Reed's replacement at free safety with the Ravens. It's yet another shrewd signing from GM Ozzie Newsome as he rebuilds his defense. Huff is five years younger than Reed, has missed just four games in his seven-year career and his average annual salary is $3M cheaper. Thanks in large part to this week's additions of Huff and DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil, the Ravens are a good bet to actually improve on last year's 17th-ranked defense.

Damn Hugo's fast.
