Interesting, how much cap would the Saints clear to cut him?

I was under the understanding it would only be about a mil.

Not sure how Trip is figuring that.

He only counted the signing bonus. He forgot Harper still has $2.6 mil in guaranteed base salary.

He saves $1 mil now and another $1.75 mil come June first. Not currently a cut candidate but it is possible that they draft a replacement.

Check out the chat with Triplet on NOLA yesterday! Was asked what players would save the most money by restructered contracts or cuts. He said a restructure of Brees would save 8 mil. and a cut of Harper would save 5 mil. Can someone tell me where he is getting the Harper number from? I dont see it.

I'm surprised they'd rather sign another pass rusher, to go along with Courtney UpShaw and Terrelle Suggs, than an interior linebacker. A guy like Karlos Dansby would be good for the defense.
