I'd only do that if the P30 was a V3 and I wanted to pick up a different variant down the line.

See every other semi-auto pistol.
Sig and S&W have external in the 1911 family.
I would keep my HK P30 and get a 1911 when funds came available. For $1000 that Sig is not worth the trade imo. You are not getting a good "deal" and I think you are being influenced by the "Super Posters" on the board that are infatuated with the 1911 platform.
You could always trade your HK for two used Glocks....There, I have managed to piss off everyone.

As long as this doesn't make you cry yourself to sleep every night, I don't see why not.
I've been happy with my external extractor. Don't let that discourage you. After all, it's still a 1911.

I have a Sig 1911 and it is a great pistol, clearly the best I have. I like the slightly different look, it has never jammed in over 1000 rds and shoots lights out. I think $1000 is a fair price for it.

If you go to an Academy you can get the Sig 1911 tacops kit with two magazines, a holster, laser sight and magazine loader for $899....it is intron as well with a rail to mount the laser sight or whatever... I like my Sigs

I have the STX 1911 and love it. only thing is that the gun is real picky about ammo. Some of the winchester target rounds are too long and can jam. but the hollow point or flat tip ammo I have had no problem with. I have reloaded my own round tip lead for target rounds and just have to make sure the over all length is good and it shoots perfect. so the gun i give a 9 out of 10 because it is only that one type of ammo I have had issues with.
