Funny story.
In the early '90s a friend of mine worked at the golf course at the Air Force Academy. He told me I had to leave work, drive to the golf course to watch a kid hit balls on the driving range. To make a long story short, it was Tiger. The thing I remember was he was so skinny, if he turned sideways all you saw were glasses. He was playing in a AJGA tournament.
And Earl was a first class prick in the early '90s.
I saw a couple of his matches and he was having trouble adjusting to 6,000 feet and the terrain on the greens. But it was obvious to me he had game and I hadn't seen the last of him. I saw him roughly 7-8 years later at Castle Pines and he had "bulked" up and was in the early stages of his PGA Tour career.

I pulled for him. Then when he began winning EVERYTHING I pulled against him, or for the underdog. His trainwreck fall was awesome to watch. But it is over. "He's paid what he owe." (Green Mile) He needs to start winning majors again.

I dislike him because he cusses and throws his clubs and acts like a 2-year-old when he hits a bad shot. What in the world is likeable about that?
After the scandal, he talked about his Buddhism and how his faith teaches not to act that way. Then he started with the tantrums again. He's going to be reincarnated as a lower life form for sure.

I followed him for a couple of holes at the Byron Nelson when he was 16, looked like he would go about 135 lbs.

Because people say that he's an athlete. Golf

I think he was probably 16 or so when I saw him at the Academy.
Since I was no where close to 135 I had nothing to compare against.

All dominate teams and players have people that root against them. Throughout the entire world, since the beginning of time.
Get over it.
Get over it.

No Baby Bron-Bron is a stuck up primma donna. He can't do it by himself, Tiger does. Tiger minds his business, stays out of the public eye. His only fault is he likes to fuuuuck. And Tiger is bar-none the best player in the world. Can't say that about LeBron.

I can hit the icing on a cake further than he can with a 3 iron.

I admire him for his accomplishments on the golf course. They are remarkable.
And to be honest, I'm not that interested in what he does off the course. As long as he supports his ex and the kids and gives his kids as much time as he can with his schedule I'm fine with it.
Bravo sir.

I just have a problem with so called TIGER lovers thinking he is gonna get back to the 2000-2001 days.. That's just NOT gonna happen........
Well those people are just not smart. I'd be astonished if someone could ever play to that level again, let alone a 37 year old.

Probably because we're in the South and he is not white.
Way too many closed minded people down here.

I'll play. I like tiger as a player, although the slamming clubs into the ground is a bit much.
When he came on the scene, it was great to watch. Golf needed new blood, and he provided it. The persona was off the charts cool, and all of his moves were scripted perfectly.
Where I went off the tracks with him was his moral failures, and the apparent years of unfaithful behavior towards his family. Sorry, I'm not a prude, but I don't think this is the kind of role model I want to root for anymore.
I don't root against him, but I don't root for him either.

He could play at the 2005-2008 level again.
