I don't think Florida is playing for much in this one. If LSU can get past UGA, they need to bring the heat against Florida. Would be a huge win for LSU.

Most programs in the SEC don't really love the SEC Tournament. All good programs would rather have an extra week of SEC play. Really hear bad reviews about the tournament from most.
NOT the fans. It is fun for the fans, but the teams are just worried about losing players to injuries playing for multiple days in a row. Players don't have to do that in the NCAA tournament.

Not to mention the SEC tourny starts so late so there's little down time between the end of the tourny and the actual tournament that matters.

This loss was so disappointing. Hopefully our guys can learn from it and make a run in the tourney.
I have no idea of what to expect from our team on Thursday

agreed. The coaches hate it (see Calapari last season).
I do think the players enjoy it though.

I really wish we could have dropped to the 10 seed to face UK in the 2nd round... that being said, I like our chances against Georgia and hope for the best against Fla. They (Fla) will not be easy b/c they still have a lot to prove, but we have been playing with a lot of heart this year so that could give us the momentum to get past them. After that we would get the winner of Tenn/Bama most likely and that would be a great game!

Just some notes I took away from the game:
1) When Carmouche went down early and even though LSU made a run I think that is what the difference was besides the obvious turnovers and rebounding.
2) Hickey had tbh a very bad game all-around but given how well he has played not terrible.
3) JOB yes got a double-double, but what shows that he is not able to make the leap to the NBA yet, is his lack of real post moves and the ability to know where his position is on the floor as well as footwork. I do not have a problem with him pulling up every now and then for short jumpers, but too many times he just tries to muscle a shot up and as of late he had been passing the ball effectively do not know what happened.
4) Stringer played very well, and at 5'9 had to guard Henderson that is where losing Carmouche really hurt.
5) Coleman is just not a PF and do not blame him because he does bring the effort, Coleman against Buckner or Holloway is just bad for him.
6) I actually really liked the atmosphere for being only 2/3 full the crowd as others mentioned wanted to get into it, whenever the small Ole Miss contingent started Hotty Toddy there was always Go to Hell....
7) Jalen Courtney

In an interview earlier this week Coach Jones was worried about the team coming into the game to tight, trying to get everything perfect because it was the last game of the season. I think that's why he allowed the players to have a little fun doing this. You could tell they were loose, which I thought was fine. They played well the first 10 minutes of the game. It was the 2nd 10 minutes of the game that lost it for the Tigers.
They totally lost mental control of the game. A few balls didn't drop their way and then they just lost it. People were passing to players unaware the ball was coming to them. Players didn't know where they were on the court. The awareness went to a season low for a 10 minute stretch. After that, LSU was playing catchup, which is very tough against the Ole Miss offense.

Every time Courtney and Collins enter the game I want to vomit. Even worse when they are on the floor at the time same Collins is a freshman, I understand that, but Jalen Courtney... c'mon man.

Won't be a problem next season. I honestly don't see either playing more than 5-10 games.

hopefully that's 5-10 minutes total between the two I THINK Collins will be able to contribute eventually in some capacity. But yeah, Johnny maybe can talk Courtney into a transfer or something for more playing time elsewhere. I don't know why, but if we can't somehow land a high quality wing, I'd really like to add Bridgewater even if he's undersized. I think he's a poor man's Tasmin.

I said games not minutes...
I couldn't see either getting more than 5 minutes in any game they appear in but I only see them playing in a handful of blowouts.
Collins possibly has a future at off guard, but Courtney will have no place on the team. If we don't pick up another scholarship player he can keep his scolly but sit the whole year like a walkon.

oh snap I read that to fast. I thought you said 5-10 minutes each at first and I was like eeesh man. That wouldn't be good I think Malone is a RS candidate too.

I think this depends on where we want to put Martin and Mickey on the depth chart. I don't think you we will redshirt our 2nd string center, but if we plan on playing those guys at the 4 more often than the 3 then we would have the 4 (JOB, Odo, Martin, Mickey) for the post we would be okay.
Obviously at 17 years old Malone has time to improve his agility, size, and post moves, but he may be a necessary piece to next years squad.

You summed it up!
When Carmouche went down, Hickey was really pissed. He followed Charles off the court to see that he was OK, and came back with a very angry looking face and proceeded to take over the game.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, his fire died quickly and no one else could get it going. It was like they thought "'Mouche is down, now what do we do, our offense was going to him?".
