Derrick Rose did not appear for Chicago Bulls practice on Saturday, according to a report.

Rose's absence on Saturday likely was not excused, as Bulls management has put pressure on him to return from his torn ACL, according to sources.

quote:

The consternation has arisen because a report has surfaced that Rose has been medically cleared to return to action.

Rumors that he’s being pressured to play have surfaced as well, even though Rose has told the team he doesn’t feel ready to take the court just yet.

Add in his brother’s comments from a couple of weeks back, and we have the makings of a full-blown controversy.

Honestly I can't imagine the Bulls wanting to risk something with Rose. Seems like he is being a huge bitch now. Is he this much of a puss?

Chicago radio has been killing Rose for weeks.

They have been counting the days. I think its 303 days now .. they continue to list all the players with this injury and when they came back. The pressure on him here is major.

So I'm not surprised he is pissed that shite is leaking to a media thats blasting him daily.

Get it done in the offseason

The Hornets organization has no qualms with sitting players.

I do question that they have to almost beg a guy to get back on the court but if youre the Bulls, why do you want to force him back out there for this season anyway? Hed likely be too rusty and cautious to win you anything this season, just let him come back next year

I can easily see this turning into a Dwight Howard type situation

What are you talking about? Derrick Rose plays harder than any player in the league. I wouldn't question his heart or his own personal evaluation of his body. Dude takes a lot of abuse from the style of ball he plays. I would rather have him back next season than risk it.

he's trying not to become grant hill v2.0

legitimate case, torn ACL's aren't the easiest things to come back from, even with today's medicine

I agree. It seems like this has been more of a mental thing with Rose for a while now.

I know no two injuries are the same but Shumpert tore his ACL the same day as Rose and he's been back for months.

They might as well just let the guy work towards next year. If the Bulls are being real with themselves, they know they aren't beating Miami even with Rose. We already saw how that matchup played out, with a healthy Rose.

that's my feeling

Rose is the franchise for this Bulls team and he's always played hard for the Bulls in the past. If he doesn't feel right yet then let him get past the fear of being injured and come back stronger next year

and he has no explosiveness. while he is playing he has been limited in his play on the court.

From the other thread, I noticed a trend. People who've torn their ACL defend rose, and people who haven't think he's being a bitch for not making it back ASAP.

There's no point in bringing rose back this season IMO. They will still get destroyed by the heat with or without him. Save him til next year when he's 100%

I'm not a big fan of rose's style of play, but he is a cornerstone of the franchise, so why risk it for a limited playoff run?

I definitely think he should just sit out the year. They aren't winning the title with or without him.

There is no reason for him to play this season. Let him take the off season to get better mentally & physically prepared for the season.

He should sit the year, it's over for Chicago. That being said, he's had a lot of time to recover. It would say a lot if he played EXTREMELY limited minutes for the purpose of getting back into the flow of the game. It would mean a lot to the franchise and restore a lot of good will. Just my opinion, though.

The franchise has more concerns than just winning a title this year, like the fans that help pay that check Rose is collecting sitting out for an entire year.

I'd imagine the attitude on here would be different if it were CP3 sitting out a whole year when he was with the hornets after he had been medically cleared and the team was headed to the playoffs. Bulls fans and local radio are probably voicing this opinion because they want to see their star player on the court.
