Why would Ryan Gosling, who could pretty much pick any woman in the world, settle for Irene? I mean she wasn't hideous, but Ryan Gosling could pull OT 10s any time he wanted to. I just found that to be odd. Otherwise I thought Drive was a solid 7.5/10

What are your thoughts/gripes about the movie?

I think the Driver felt obligated to protect Irene and her son. Plus, Carey Mulligan is pretty damn cute.

This movie is excellent and I think that's the general consensus on this board.

In the directors commentary it was revealed that Goslings programming was malfunctioning.

He couldn't distinguish pretty girls from homely ones. In an earlier version of the script there was going to be a love triangle with a German Sheppard but all tge dog did was stare so the bitchs scenes were scrapped.
