My understanding is that Tiger has a much more taxing swing that will make things difficult. Comparing his pace to Jack's probably isn't that helpful.

Eta: on phone and didn't realize this was an old bumped thread

That's why he changed it years ago. He has greatly reduced the impact his swing takes on his back and knees.

In fact, according to the so-called experts on the tele, he's much further ahead of Jack in that respect and should be able to play at a high level longer because of it...and medical technology.

Maybe the PGA or the US Open if he gets a decent sized lead to start sunday. He is only a front runner, having never won a major coming from behind. His best asset is building a 3 stroke lead on a very, very tough course, then playing conservative golf while all the others try to make up the 3 strokes, all the while falling further and further behind. Its been the MO of his career. When he was much younger, he was so much longer off the tee than everyone else, all he had to do was birdie all the Par 5's while paring the rest and the major tourneys were his.

tiger at his very best stood out the most on really tough courses. Maybe that's the case again but in the last couple years it seems like he's fared better on slightly easier courses. Birdies/eagles don't come quite as easy for him as they did back in the day.

i'm about as big as a tiger fan as there is on this board and I'd say calling tiger a front-runner isn't entirely inaccurate.

Haven't read the whole thread, but put me down for Tiger winning either the British Open or PGA this season.

he said tiger was only a front runner. he has like 25 wins coming from behind. that is more wins than gary player and ray floyd had in their entire careers.

oh and go ask steve scott and trip kuehne if tiger is only a front runner.

He's 4/6 this year so the odds are he'll win 2/3 majors left. Good point.

and he has come from behind to win a major when trailing with 19 holes to go and 17 holes to go, just not 18.

Do you know which ones these were off hand? I assume the 19 holes was the US Open at Torrey Pines? Hell, he won there trailing by one with both 1 and 19 to play.

Ok, was he 1 done after 1 hole in the playoff? Or are you saying he was behind after 1 hole on Sunday?
