Looks like a walleye or some kind of perch they have up north.

Negative..I think it's some kind of Goby.
Fins are not right for a perch.
If I could see the mouth I could make a positive ID...

How do you get Goby from that picture? Gobys are mostly saltwater fish..

I'm going with some kind of Goby. Body looks right and mouth is sucker type as you described and I know most are saltwater, but not all...
