For those who may be unfamiliar, it is the compact, single stack XD that is perfectly sized for CC. Love the design of the weapon but not a huge fan of .45ACP in a pistol of that size. Pretty good muzzle flip and it looks like two of the rounds tumbled at 25'. I would think it might be better suited for .40 S&W. You could definitely kill somebody with it. Keeping in mind, my favorite gun ever was my Baby Eagle in .45. I'm leaning toward the XDm 5.25" in .45ACP or .40 S&W. Anybody shot one of those yet? It's humongous compared to the XDs.

and the XDm

If you want to cc a .45 but think the XDm is too fat, check out the XDs. It's a single-stack .45 and it's awesome.

Tumbling bullets at 25'? That is impressively bad.

What makes you think they tumbled at 25'?

Just bought the XDS, won't be able to shoot it for a couple more weeks. I've got the XDM 4.5" in .40 and it shoots great. If you're not a fan of the .45, the XDS should be available some time this summer in 9mm.

My bad. Did the OP originally have a pic up of an XDm compact?

Either way, if those bullets are tumbling at 25', you are shooting crap ammo.

My XDs is as accurate as my full size Glock 21.

Shooting same ammo, at 35 ft.

Even my fiancee, who had NEVER shot a handgun, much less a sub-compact .45, had a nice group at 20 ft. She just started stringing them out to the right honking on the trigger too hard.

Now you had better be holding the XDs VERY firm at the trigger break, but all my range sessions have shown it to be one helluva good shooting weapon.

That's good to hear. I was hoping it wasn't tumbling them all at 25'.

I'd like to handle and shoot an XDs 45. I like the fit of the XD in my hand, but don't like how it fits for cc. The XDs might be the best of both worlds. If the XDs 9mm is handled well by SA, it should be a BIG hit.

I have an XDs and it shoots great. I am not sure where the bad vibe is coming from on this pistol.

It does have some kick, but it is a compact .45 and you have to have some trade off to shoot that type of round in a small platform.

Mine is very accurate at 25 ft. and I did not see any oblong or tears in the paper targets. All of my shots looked like clean punctures in the paper.

What grain bullets are you shooting out of curiosity? I am shooting 230 gr. JHP in Rem and Win

How has it been in the reliability department?

Reliability for me has been 100%

I have only put 150 rounds through it.
JHP and Ball.

I fired it several ways. Single handed Left and Right, traditional two handed, and sideways gangsta to see if any of the grips/angles would cause a failure.

I can shoot it one handed, but It is a ride for my left hand.

I need to buy more bullets for it and shoot some more, but so far I love it. It replaced my Glock as my EDC.

I bought mine this week also. I haven't shot it yet, but am hoping to like it. I don't know if I'll carry it regularly, I just kinda liked it and thought it would ba a good addition to my toy box.

XDs is my EDC. I love it. Pearce grips make it just about perfection from a control perspective.

It has less kick than my 380LCP and it makes much bigger holes :)
