I know lots of people like watching movies multiple times. Especially good and great movies.

But what are some great movies that you have had no desire to watch a second time but you still think the movie is amazing?

For me its The Fighter.

Movie is amazing. Christian Bale is absolutely amazing in it. And the mom is wonderful also. But I dont know why... I just dont want to see it again.

I can agree with your selection.

However for me it usually involves epic type films that are powerful in nature but don't necessarily provide me with any reason to watch them again.

I know I may get crucified but films such as Braveheart and Forrest Gump fit the bill for me.

Requiem for a Dream is the greatest movie I've ever seen that I literally never want to see again.

Requiem for a Dream

I only needed to see that movie once. I don't regret it, but I don't need to go back.

I think Slumdog Millionaire might fit into this category. I've only seen it once and I don't know if I would watch it again if it were on TV. Which it never seems to be. I wonder if it would lose a little now that all the tension is gone.

The Passion of the Christ.

I know it is a very controversial film, but I still think it was well done.

Silence of the Lambs for me. Without the suspense the second time around it was pretty meh to me.

I agree with that. And I'd also add that many movies are rewatchable if you are watching with someone who hasn't seen it. Like Usual Suspects, Silence of the Lambs, Memento, etc.

Shutter Island for me. I thought it was a good movie but I once tried to watch it again and I was completely disinterested.

well, that's why people have different views.

I've probably seen that film more than 100 times.

I mean I know the end of T2 but that didn't stop me from watching it over and over...Silence of the Lambs is pure entertainment.

There's no big secret in Silence that only works the first time.

Too each his own

I tried watching it again with some friends shortly after I watched it the first time and I couldn't make it through it.

I have no desire to see No Country for Old Men again. Or Trainspotting, or Requiem.

I watched Silence the other day and it felt really dated to me...

For me, the only films I can remember being disappointed the second time around was The Hours and Slumdiog Millionaire.

The Hours just didn't hold up the second time despite Kidman's performance.

Millionaire's plot holes gaped wide open on second viewing. I remember loving it the 1st time and absolutely despising it after the second.
