I disagree about offense. He has done nice work getting Anderson open looks this season. And he is putting Davis in spots to succeed. The team is middle of the pack on offense, which is impressive considering the talent.

Completely agree on end of game situations, its a goddamn grease fire. Some of that is personnel (how many looks did Lopez blow tonight/how hard is it for Vasquez to turn the corner/just a lack of creators), but much of it is unimaginative play calling when defenses will be locked in.

His rotations arent quite Byron-esque, but they arent too far behind.

Two big positives for him: he's gotten his teams to play hard and he's at least been around for the development of younger guys.

He's been squeezing most of what he can get from this roster.

That said, tonight's loss was not pretty. Injuries limited his options, but it was a woeful coaching performance down the stretch.

Pretty much this.

people forget how piss poor this roster was at the start of the year. doesn't help much. he hasn't done well the past few weeks, but you cannot place all the blame on him. that team vanished in the last quarter. all of them. and you can't put that all on the coach.

Son of a bitch. I don't know man, I don't know. They probably have tons of jerseys and hats to match so whichever team comes into town and if said player is on one of the many jerseys in their closet they show up. Run-on I know.

the hornets are trying to find an identity and its hard to find one when EG10 is hurt half the year and not playing like he has in the past, EG10's trade rumors, uncertainty about how the Hornets will split time between their two best players that happen to play the same position, and while any player has the ability to be traded or released unless you are AD or Ryno

i think once we get into the offseason we draft whoever (hopefully bazz or Porter) we will get a better idea of what the franchise is planning for the future

my take is that this years team was kinda thrown together at the last minute and there's no real idea whats the future plans

personally I think this is a HUGE offseason coming up and once we get guys we plan on investing in (instead of Mason Jr, Lance Thomas, Robin Lopez at least as our C for the future, Roberts, etc) it will start clicking

Hard to say, I know. Actually, I think maybe it's a) they're Kobe fans and b) it's fricking Los Angeles California that seems like sort of a Mecca. If they only fricking knew.

I have a very good black friend (who unfortunately has the big C . . . get well, B) and we were joking about it the other night. Oh, and he's a Laker fan.

It is absolutely AMAZING the amount of excuses people come up with for this dude. Find an identity? Develop bench players? Tetering with lineups?

You are allowed to say we have a crappy coach. You are allowed to like certain players and dislike others. Everything to do with the Hornets does not need to be defended.

If you watched the last two games it should hammer home the point that Monty sucks, especially with 2nd half lineups and adjustments. This team has blown 2nd half leads throughout his tenure.

This team isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.

It isn't as good as people are assuming either.

And who is really making excuses, I mean honestly.I want to fire him just like most on here But reality, if we do nothing next year, then there is where the tide will turn.

Vasquez and Aminu were apparently the 2 players that Monty was toughest on and look at where they are now compared to when they got here.
I'll give you Vasquez

Aminu is still pretty awful

At least he's gone from "holy shite how is this guy on an NBA roster" awful to "wow, I can't believe that guy gets as many minutes as he does" awful

But seriously, outside of Vasquez who has Monty really developed?

I keep hearing all these wonderful development stories, but where are they? Vasquez is good, but the second best success story is that he has made Aminu only slightly terrible? That doesn't do much for me
