Decoy Buddy

I guy I grew up with makes these and he is starting to sell them around town.(BR) Bowies is the only store I know of that has them on the self. What does the my OB brethren think of this gadget?

WMA hunters could benefit. Our decoys generally stay in the same spot the whole season

They may be useful. I'd like to see how they perform after they are used in a saltwater marsh for a season or two.

Good point! I'm pretty sure they are made from hard plastics for that reason.

I would consider buying them for that price.

You can buy an automated retracable version (10 ft plastic dog leash) for 5.50 here LINK but would need to add the 8 oz of weight inside. Which on Ebay you can get for a little less than 1.00 per 8oz if you shop for it.

Would be nice if I was hunting a place the water flucuated a good bit, but in the marsh 250# mono and a crimp works fine

Pretty handy but I Texas rig all my decoys. So much easier to deploy and pickup.

Same here. I can pick up dekes faster without having to wind them using the tx rigged system. H&H makes tx rigs that you can get for $20/dozen all the time or $14/dozen at the end of the season from academy. My brothers and I are about to re-rig 20 dozen dekes tx rigged by making our own with 300# mono. $20 for 3 of these just wouldnt be an option.

One of the videos shows the mud washing right out of it. Not sure how they will hold up. But he is an avid duck hunter and I'm sure he has tried them out in all settings.

That's on the video, no way that shite happens in real life. First crappy day they'll be getting put up full of mud. 2 crimps, a swivel, a weight and some mono, too simple.

Good idea, but a little too pricey for me.

Let the OB balla's get in on this.

Tis really the problem with trying to "improve" on a vey simplistic and cheap design (ie. the mouse trap)

I just don't know about that deal there. Not knocking you're buddy's product by any means..... But I'm wanting to rank it somewhere between this

and this

Worthless to me. Texas Rig all day
