Yea, going with the $6 i guess unless the $9 has a noticeable difference. I only shave 2x a week, so maybe I should just get the nicer one

Yeah I agree, give it a try and cancel if you don't like it. No sweat off your back. My habits may be different then yours yours may work better then for me.

I subject my blades to a lot of moisture because I shave in the shower, but I store blades in a dry drawer and I shave daily.

I think im going to try double edge safety razor and see how that goes.

Do a little reading on the subject, watch some youtube vid's, buy a decent not expensive razor. I have a Edwin Jagger DE89 that I really like, I think it was about $35 bucks, it will last a lifetime. Get a good sample of different blades to try, they are not all created equal, when you find the right blade you will know it. I also suggest using a cream, it is a lot easier to bulid a nice lather versus a soap puck. Take ten minutes, relax and enjoy, because if yur like me the rest of my day tends to go down hill quick.

This.

I swithced to a safety razor a few weeks ago and I'm never going back. Sure, it takes a little more time, and there's a learning curve, but the quality of the shave is unmatched by any cartridge razor.

I'm using Burt's Bees Bay Rum shave soap:

And a decent badger brush (cost me $30.00 on Amazon).

It took some practice to get the lather right. The soap to water ratio and whipping in a shave bowl takes practice and time.

Since I shave twice a week, it's well worth my time to use good/inexpensive products and do it right.

For "aftershave" I've been using either old fashioned Florida Water

or . Baxter of California Aftershave Balm

I plan on trying different blades and soaps. I was surprised at how big a variety are out there.

I switched back in August, on my birthday - yeah there is an initial cost - I think I got started for about $100 for razor, brush, stand, soap and a single blade. I bought a blade sampler and now I'm at about $0.25 per week for blades, $3 to $5 of soap lasts me 6 months. I shave every other day and change blades every week.

I'm thinking about expanding my arsenal of razors, but that's optional at this point. I figure I will get another 6 months out of the brush and splurge on a new one.

I've been a member of DSC for almost a year now. I don't change my blades much (once a month-ish) so I've built up an inventory to last me years. I think it is time to cancel.

I think it's a good deal. I went with the $6 razor.

Dollar shave club is fine for you no hair growing guys but not for me.
I shave five days a week. I've been using MACH 3 for ever, but 15 bucks for 4 blades sucks. Plus my wife and daughter go through them as well. The baldes do last 2-3 weeks though.

You are right about the quality of the blades. They just aren't as good. But I don't care about throwing the blades away so much.

4 so so blades for 6 bucks is a lot better than 4 very good blades for 15.
