The question comes up every year - why don't we make our spring game a night game? We'd probably see stronger attendance. Is there a reason this doesn't happen?

I'm sure there is a reason, but it's a great idea IMO. I'm sure ESPN would love to cover a spring game at night, plus like you said attendance would go way up.

I think I read today where it was announced for April 20 at 2:00 . Afternoon game. I prefer a night game, but, it's at 2:00.

I'm cool with a night spring game but I'd imagine it wouldn't be free when you factor all the costs associated with pulling that off.

Staff likes a day game so they can spend time afterward with recruits.

People have other commits at night during that time of year... lots of fairs and such.

This is the reason. Les has stated it in the past

Has nothing to do with what the fans want. There are obligations during the day(kids baseball, soccer, etc). It is during the day soley for recruiting purposes. Pretty sure they have a nice get together with recruits and their families after the game.

Start it at 5. Then you can announce when the Sun goes down...it's Saturday night in Death Valley.

that is actually a damn good suggestion...I attended once during the day and was so damn hot that I swore I would never attend another...move it to night and I would go every year, though...

Fans like a Night Game so they can practice and update tailgating methods and procedures.

LSU staff can spend time with recruits all day BEFORE the freaking game.

And it does need to be a real fricking game at night, not a boring scripted scrimmage. I'd like to get a brief look at Rettig and Jennings, but there's no way I'm attending a glorified practice at 2pm in the afternoon. That's strictly for the same bunch that goes to The Bash every year.

The LSUAD could really turn this into a money making event, but since they DGAD about what the people that pay the freight prefer, why should the fans make an effort to attend? Seriously.

So don't go to the Spring game. I guarantee you plenty of people have daytime activities in the Spring as well (baseball, softball, etc).
