What does this have to do with anything?

I thought it was a red also van Persie was offside for the own goal and Rafael had a handball on the line. United fans shouldn't be complaining.

1. Punctuation is your friend.

2. Did RvP being offside (if he was, I don't recall) affect the goal?

3. Referee had a bad angle for the Rafael handball. Sound familiar?

4. We have every right to complain. That call changed the match. If your club got shafted on such a questionable call, you would be complaining and 90% of this board would be complaining. It's just that United gets calls a lot, so people are more eager to defend the call.

Yes, his cross is what went all the way through to Nani (might have been one person between there) but it was at most 2 touches prior to the goal.

So it kind of affected the play, but not the actual goal.

Yes because play should've been blown dead and Real given a free kick. Goal came due to an incorrect decision.

Not sure this is the best comparison, but in the NFL the officials let them play a little bit more during the playoffs... I just hate to see the ref impact a game like that when he could have easily given a yellow card and we wouldn't be talking about him.

The butt hurt is strong in this thread.

I've got no problem with the red.

Because it was questionable. Even most neutrals are admitting that.

Holy shite, just saw the video for the first time. No way that was a direct red. Terrible call.

It can't be questionable when you go in cleats up above the waist. The ONLY questionable call is to NOT red card for that, a la de Jong in the WC finals.

Look at where Nani's eyes were today and de Jong's were then and get back with me.

Intent is IRRELEVANT to the danger of the play.

You bring your leg up above your waist at your own peril because the move is inherently dangerous to other players and runs the risk of drawing a card.

Sure. I thought it was a yellow card. Awful call to make it straight red.

Not if you are choosing between a yellow and red. Anyone ever see a bicycle kick that resulted in a direct red?

Yes, a yellow card. Not a direct red.

I'm no Manure fan. That wasn't a straight red. He had no idea he was even there at that point. He's just trying to trap the ball.

As fans we were robbed. Manu got a little bit of the return karma for all of the calls they normally get. But would rather see it in a big game against Liverpool than against a Spanish Club (even though Real is my favorite to watch from La Liga)

I'm far from neutral. It shouldn't have been a red. It was not a good call. Don't worry. Howard Webb will right the ship on Sunday.

Eta: the biggest disgrace is why Rooney didn't start in the biggest game of the year at Old Trafford? Someone explain that shite.

theyre still impacting the game by not calling penalties in the post season that they would usually be penalties during the regular season
