Last time I checked the Knicks were named after a pair of pants, the Lakers and Clippers were named after a ship, the Pacers were named after a car, Magic named for Disney. Hell when OKC introduced introduced the Thunder, people laughed because it sounded like a WNBA team.

Bobcats were named after the original owner (doesn't own the team anymore... no wonder why CHT fans want the Hornets name back)
also Lakers came w/ the team from Minny (the land of 1,000 lakes)... much like Jazz stuck w/ the team now in Utah (seems like the west coast doesn't like anything original)

Completely aware of the teams origin. Just saying some of the team names sound ridiculous in their new cities. Just win and people will forget about the name.
