everyone is projecting to us is OLB,

I think that has to do more with the draft depth

if ya look at needs-

OLB- there's Jordan, Jones, Mingo, and prolly Ansah that could be a #15 value.

NT- only Lotulelei is a must pick, Hankins maybe or maybe not a take

S- Vacarro is a minor stretch at #15 IMO, this need value changes dramatically with a Harper cut

OT- another unknown until free agency is done, I'm not expecting LT to be a hole going into the draft. Three guys are surefire values there- Jockel, Fisher, & Johnson

CB- Milliner and Rhodes are clean #15s. I don't expect either to be available though.

OG Warmack, WR Patterson, maybe Ogletree, some QBs, etc might all warrant a #15 but I'd be surprised. None of them are must picks there. The surprises are usually a faller that you can't pass on (Deuce) or when you stretch. OLB to me is projected more frequently for the supply/demand ratio being good (4 of'em) even though it is a major need.

I still think CB/WR is in play if they view one as BPA.

I'm only addressing this because tigerinstaugustine is so classy.

I could see CB maybe. But we have Greer, PRob, White and Mack. I think a pass rusher is more of a need. I don't see WR. We have Colston, Moore, Toon and Morgan and maybe Devery.

I've also got to agree with blues post above. People say OLB, but I say passrusher/playmaker is the NEED.
There isn't a true NT take besides Lotuleleielieileiei and he'll likely be gone.
I like Rambo in the third round if we "need" a safety and the top OT will likely be off the board by #15.
You can get good offensive linemen late in the draft (Nicks, Evans, Bushrod) But you can't get playmakers in the third round.
IMO & IMHO

Oh no I agree, rational thought says pass rusher. But the thread is who will the saints REALLY draft. We know there are probably 10+ guys that they have as high on their board that we likely aren't even discussing. While we have those wrs and I agree, you just never know. Colson getting older/beat up, Moore isn't a true number 2, how will Morgan progress, is toon even worth a damn, will devwry be back? If Payton feels one of the wr is a steal or we trade back, I could totally see it.

I don't hate to say it at all. I'd be pretty damn furious if we waste a 3rd pick on a corner back who can't cover, benefited his college career from having two top 10 picks in his secondary, has drug issues, and hasn'toplayed in a year. If he didn't go to Lsu you'd never hear a peep about him on here.

Let me clarify. You're not going to be able to line him up from a number 1 or 2 nfl receiver and have him play man. He will have to roam, freelance, etc. He's instinctual and made a lot of plays but he was on great defenses against crappy sec qbs. I wouldn't waste a 3rd rounder on a part time guy that wasn't a pass rushing specialist.

Jesus frick I am so tired of people just regurgitating arguments without even thinking.

If you watch this video and still think the dude has "cover issues," you're nuts.

I actually think there's a possibility they end up with Mingo (not a prediction, just suggesting he's on their radar). I cannot wait for the fricking ranting one way or the other on this board if it happens.

I'd love to have Mingo. I really think he could have a Demarcus Ware effect as a 3-4 OLB.

And I'd take Rambo in the 3rd if he's still there. Safety of the future to take over for Harper. There's some good offensive lineman in the third too.

As for TM7, he needs to be far away from NOLA. And he has great ball skills, but I'm not confident in putting him out there as my starting CB. He'd be a great rover/nickel situational guy. But we don't have the luxury of taking a guy like that with as many question marks as he has at this point.
But then again, you can look at guys like Warren Sapp, Randy Moss and Dez Bryant as having the same questions and they've worked out for the most part.

I'm definitely nuts then. He intercepts a horrific qb who underthrows a pretty average receiver. Crown him.

while we're doing one play sample sizes

great job by Mingo against the TE as well...

Like who and with what money?

Shaun Phillips

Victor Butler, Antwan Barnes, I don't know. it wouldn't be anyone big time.

Phillips has been pretty solid but he's 32 now I think, don't know if he would demand a lot of money either. Just guessing, I'd say Phillips though. We always take away good players from the Chargers

don't know where the money will come from... I don't get into to all of that cap shite. But we made plenty of deals last year that I didn't see coming either.
