I thought he went to Baylor due to:

Baylor University, a private Christian university and a nationally ranked research institution, provides a vibrant campus community for more than 15,000 students by blending interdisciplinary research with an international reputation for educational excellence and a faculty commitment to teaching and scholarship.

I watched that game last night. Gathers doesn't look nearly as big or athletic as I thought he was. But he looked to have a really good motor and had some strength down low. He should be solid. Of course I only watched one game.

Dont bother with him, he's still mad because myself and about 6 others ragged on him for his incessant baseball negativity.

He is getting paid at Baylor though

I actually would rather have had Godfrey than Gathers. For sure next year we will forget about Gathers.
When you have Martin starting at SF and can bring in Coleman what a group. Still making sure any Top 100 player in-state signs with LSU is a big deal but in this case not a huge loss.

LSU basketball is on the upswing, and that is a great thing

making a post like this as a way to show some sort of regret for gathers' college choice is just in poor fashion

can talk about our success in hoops without bringing up a forward for Baylor University

I wish Gathers would have come here. It would have helped us down low this year.
JOB needs help. ADP helps some simply because of height, but he's just not strong enough and still lacks BBall coordination.
Coleman is undersized and the other kid from Miss wants to be a wing player and gets pushed around way to easily.

Losing Godfrey was big for this team, just as getting Gathers would have been big.

I've seen the kid play a few games a yr since he was a Fr or So in high school.

He has a great motor and is very strong.

His touch 8 ft or more away from the basket has never been all that impressive. imo

I was always concerned bout how his play would translate to college where he was banging with guys his size or bigger every game.

Having said that, I sure wish we had signed him but I really dont think he ever wanted to come to LSU.

As to Baylor, the last month has seen their play drop off badly for whatever reason.
