Eater names Rue 127 as one of the 25 most underrated restaurants in the country

To update the underrated thread from a few weeks ago:
"Chef Ray Gruezke's New American food at restaurant Rue 127 deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as places like Stella! and Cochon. But because Gruezke doesn't have a big public image like other NOLA chefs — say Donald Link or John Besh — he has to rely on its unanimous local acclaim."

The one time I went I didn't really care for it. The atmosphere, service and food were all mediocre to bad. That was right after they opened - a couple years ago now it seem - so maybe I need to give them another shot.

A couple of years IIRC 2003-2005ish... He was there a little longer than me.

Knew ray from several of my Jesuit friends. I used to drink at jubans all the time. Good friends with several of the bar tenders.

I ate there a little over a year ago and it was great.
I was with a party of eight and we had a late dinner so we could basically have the restaurant to ourselves around closing time.
I had the filet with the risotto, It was amazing.
Also split a bottle of red wine with a friend which was fantastic.
The deserts were also incredible.
