How is that a shitty analogy? If he booked a "tuna" trip and not a 6 or 8 hr offshore trip, and did not catch tuna, but instead settled for an inferior day of fishing? Look at most guided hunting trips. You book at a specific hunt, and if it does not include said animal offered, do they still charge you the full price? No they do not. If he truly booked a tuna trip, a more expensive and sought after fish (ie, a Russian boar) however due to circumstances out of guides control, had to settle for rig fish (ie; javelinas) please explain your logic before you run your mouth

Like I said everytime you post you sound dumber?
You said don't go with lance walker if that is not a bash not sure what is.
I work for a fortune 500 company everything we do is based on service (some people you just can't make happy. 6 bags of ice is not $10 bait, are dumb enough to think that are the only expenses of running a boat. (not talking about gas). What do you do that people just dont't pay when you work your but off for them if they don't feel like it. Save the the best for last please book lance or some other captain down there try not paying them let me be there to watch you either get put in jail or you but whipped. (its called stealing or theft).

What he should have done is just charge them the fee for a regular charter trip since that is what it turned into to. That would be a fair compromise IMO

I said had we gone tuna fishing all day long and not caught a single tuna and Lance had not offered a reasonable "solution" I would not have paid for the trip

So do you frequently just walk into businesses and tell them that the preceeding business transaction will solely be on your terms? Sorry, but shite doesn't always work out the way it's intended.

Sorry, but this whole thread has made you to be the a-hole in this scenario, not Lance.

You should have taken control of the boat and started trolling for tuna. It is obvious to me that you are the master of trolling, because there is absolutely no way you honeslty believe what you are spewing. BTW, I own 2 businesses and the customer is not always right.

Yikes. Not the best motto to go by. Good luck keeping those going.

Been going for 10 years and growing double digits every year.

The fact that you expect him to compensate you for something out of his control. Would it have been nice of him to comp the fishing cleaning....sure. Should it have been expected....hell no. Unless he advertises that he guarantees you tuna every time, it's a crap shoot. If it's so damn easy, use that awesome degree you have make a shite pile of money and go buy a boat for tuna fishing.

That's the problem It's not totally out of his control.

Please explain to me how making a fish eat is in his control.

I see the pic of your driver in your avatar. Please don't tell me you've never been to a course that was in "less than your standards" condition and not gone back to the pro shop and demanded at least a partial refund.

Nope. Never. However, the condition of a golf course is actually in someone's control. The greenskeeper generally can control the condition of the golf course, so another bad analogy.

The point is I didn't even do this. We paid and tipped. We caught fish.

Then quit bitching like a freshman school girl who can't get tickets to a Bieber concert.

If I were in charge of a guide service that took customers and didn't get a bite all day (the hypothetical),

See last quote.

quote:

There's no way I could sleep at night after taking a group fishing or hunting and not catching or killing a damn thing and making them pay. If I take you on a hunting or fishing trip, there is an expectation you will kill or catch.

Again, see above.

Thank you to everyone that posted about Lance, I look forward to fishing with you again. I have been running charters for 15 years and this was the first person to ever post a negative report about me. I guess 1 unsatisfied customer out of a million is pretty good, but you couldn't make this guy happy if he caught moby dick. I can't control the conditions when I get offshore. You say you paid for a tuna fishing trip and thats what you got. I did my job that day and put 100% in to the trip like i do every day. I know exactly what trip you were on and I remember a lot of high five going on when we were catching bunch of amberjack another fish you forgot to tell everyone about. Never once did you ask for a discount and as far as not paying a guide for taking you if you don't catch fish. Anyone dumb enough to try that good look I watched a group from another guides charter try it and they got arrested before they could get to fourchon by the harbor patrol and were going to get charged with a felony but the captain dropped the charges once he was paid. To say I have no expenses you have no clue how a charter operation works. I have a boat note, insurance, maintenance, rod and reel repair, camp note, tackle, bait ,and ice. It cost me over $50,000 a year to keep my operation going. I take people on offshore trips because I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy taking people out that share that same passion. Putting a smile on someones face or hearing "i had the best trip of my life". is the reason why I do this. So next time before you start bashing me and telling people not to go with me maybe you should get your facts straight first, you've made a fool of yourself. If you want your discount give me a call. Im headed down to Grand Isle right now on a TUNA FISHING TRIP I'll post some pics after the weekend if the weather lets us get out. Anyone wanting to go offshore this summer give me a call I only have one rule on the boat NO TREBLE HOOKS ALLOWED
