I want Porter and only Porter. Noel would be a great pick too. I think Porter is our position in need and fits perfectly. Get him Monty!

Players that I would draft in order based on current projected #5 Pick:
1. Shbazz Muhammad- think he is better than Porter but not by much
2. Otto Porter
3. Trey Burke- IMO the best player in America he is a difference maker.
4. Nerlens Noel- dependent on his recovery but Pekucans solidify frontcourt of the future with Davis and Noel and can look to signing a SF.
5. Anthony Bennet- If he does not get drafted in the Top 8 he will be the steal of this draft, question is what position does he play?
Players I would not draft at 5 or pray Pelicans do not draft period:
1. Smart
2. Zeller
3. Len
4. Oladipo
5. Michael Carter Williams

I'd put 3 or 4 of those guys over almost your entire wishlist.
I could honestly see Len being one of the most valuable players in the whole draft over the long term. Not saying we should draft him #1 overall if we get it, but I think he'll be pretty solid as a pro.

dont know if you listen to the 247 podcasts, but the most recent one with Henry Abbott is really good. specifically they talk about how Thorpe has Burke as his number 1 pick overall. and how drafting a very good smaller player is better than a potentially very good big.
not sure if I buy it, but very interesting
edit- its a long podcast (90 minutes). if you're only interested in the Burke stuff, Abbott comes on around the 60 minute mark

All I know on the draft is what I read here, DX, NBA Draft Blog, SBNation, et al.
DX is pretty high on Zeller. Thinks he has some real flaws, but also has legit NBA offensive skills and is suffering from perception bias. Would rather your top 3, but am intrigued by what they say about Zeller

I just watched one of Porter's highlight videos and I saw something troubling. At this point he has no left hand at all. He got away with it at the college level, but his drives will be able to be neutralized at the next level without a respectable left hand.
ETA - any time he was driving left, he would force up an awkward shot with his right hand. That will result in a lot of blocked shots.
