He was asked the question...In a rather Space Jam esque way..

If you're picking one player to win a game or series.

If Earth was playing an alien invader and the loser goes into servitude for all eternity..

He said he'd take "A healthy Bill Walton" over anybody. Saying Bill Walton's best...was the best.

Now Bob Ryan saw Bill Russell and Larry Bird up close in person for years....

Yet, he chooses Walton. Of coursed framed it as a healthy prime Walton.

Thoughts?

It depends. I go back and forth. Jordan is the easy, quick answer, but at the same time wouldn't a big man be a game changer? Someone like Kareem, Walton, SHaq?

Jordan did it once, he can do it again.

Bob Ryan can't even get Final 4 team matchups correct, so his opinion matters little

Pre-injury Walton was a beast. Still he wouldn't be a top 6-7 center for me, much less the guy I'm choosing over anyone.

The Blazers were pretty much a lock to win at least 2 more championships in 78 and 79 if Walton hadn't gotten hurt.

Anyway the correct answer is Shaq.

Jordan with Bugs

Lebron with Daffy Duck

Take your pick

What a clown. Jordan already starred in a movie about this very subject and destroyed those aliens.

I'm trying to decide between Bill Cartwright and Will Perdue. Michael Jordan couldn't win squat until he had those guys.

What position does the alien play? If he is a 6'3" SG I dont want Shaq playing him. If he is a 7'4" Monster post man, I dont want Jordan playing him.

It really depends on the match up. I could choose between 3 or 4 people by position. I'd probably take Lebron with a gun to my head and not knowing anything else.
