Potential Trade and Trade Partners

Figured I'd make this a thread by itself considering there probably be a lot of speculation on this. Here's my discussion on potential trades with the Niners:
The 15th spot is worth 1050 points.
These are the Niners draft spots this year and their values picks link
values chart
1.31-600
2.2 - 560
2.29 - 292
3.12 - 210
3.31 - 120
4.31 - 45
5.24 - 30.6
6.12 - 22.6
6.31 - 15
7.21 - 6.2
7.31 - 2.3
So getting their first pick is automatic and thats 600. So you'd have to get 450 worth of picks somewhere else.
I would think something like their 1st, 2nd, their original 3rd, and their 4th.
ETA - Forgot about the Alex Smith Trade. Their 1st and then the 34th pick would be about 100 over, so we'd have to send 100 back their way somehow.
I'm not sure how next years picks are valued and all that..so I won't go there.

Wishful thinking. All the trading will be above our pick. If the niners trade up, it will be above us.

I dont know about that. Its already looking like they'd have to pony quite a bit to get our pick. To move up they'd have to come up with another probably at least 3rd round pick to get that high. Not saying they wouldn't be willing to do that, but its going to cost them.

I would rather see this than their 1st and the pick from K.C. If we got those two they might want another late round pick to make it equal out.
Even if Sopoaga is brought back, he's not getting any younger. Maybe they'll fall in love with Jenkins or Hankins and not think they'll make it to 31. The trouble with those two is, they could probably wait a little further down the line and trade with someone after us. Or even move ahead of us and grab Louteleli if his medical checks out. With their team and all of the picks they have, they can pretty much do what they want.

Getting more picks would be pretty sweet.

just a cool little draft pick calculator
put in the picks and it does the math
10% point premium is nothing for the team wanting to move up. More correctly, the team that is calling and doing the shopping whether to go or down is the one that could have to give a little.
also a good link to picks per team (also by round at the same site
A good possibility might be one of the QB seeking teams that didn't take one the 1st Rd. Plenty of those scenarios where a BUF, AZ, etc could make the jump to get ahead of the competitors. For example, Buffalo= #41, 71, & 2014 1st Rder.
JFYI, picks for the next year are generally pointed at a full round lower. Where you place them in the round is a negotiating point.
Ingram Trade example:
#28 spot for Ingram= 660pts
Saints gave #56 340pts + the 2012 1st
That ended up #27, 680pts
Having to wait a year halves it's value, so 340pts
340 + 340= 680, just a slight premium
Of course they made the move in a push to win now. If that would have worked out the #32 would have been 290pts. 340 + 290= 630 and a Saints value win. Perfect point exchange would have been 2012 #29 + the #56.
Got that? It'll be on the test during Draft Week.

Blues,
I don't know of anyone who would seriously not want to trade down if the chance is there to pick up extra picks; the real question is if there is a dance partner.
The only team that's been mentioned as having too many picks and not enough spots is the 49ers. I read this morning that the Lions (who are at #9) have the same idea...trying to move down.
If it happens, that's great. If it doesn't, that's great too. There will be a quality player at #15. I just hope the team gets it right this time.

that would be me if any of these players were available-
Joeckel, Fisher, Lane Johnson, Lotulelei, Jarvis Jones, Dion Jordan, Milliner- all are must pick quality players at #15
I'd be on the fence about depending on the deal and who they got if Mingo or Ansah were on the board.

With the number of picks that trade up would involve I can't think of any one player I would say yes to.
Too many draft pics at a low cost for several years that for me makes it too good to pass up.
They are due some luck drafting Def. players aren't they?

I'm definitely following this school of thought. There are too many holes on defense and way too little cap room to fix them without cheap labor. One player on defense will not solve the problem.
I think this discussion is moot because I don't see any team willing to unload picks to move up...might happen but I'm not too confident.
