Perks of Being A Wallflower Question? *Spoilers*

Again, I’ll say spoilers, in case you want to go into it blind.
Question: Who do you think Charlie is writing to in his letters?
I thought maybe it was something he was proscribed to do by a doctor at first, or maybe just because he read and understood books so well, but then thought maybe he was actually writing to his friend who died. Even if that is not so, I believe that could be very good therapy, since writing is a way to express feelings deep inside. It’s sometimes also a good way to explain things you have a hard time saying, or at first understanding. For no other reason, I feel like I gained something from this movie.
I guess another question is: would you think it was creepy if someone wrote to a dead person? I actually think it could be helpful, if they meant a lot to you.
Anyway, first off, who do you think he was writing his letters to? I guess the aunt who also died could even be a candidate.

It is supposed to essentially be a journal for him in letter form. He says friend so if you are taking a stab at it I would say probably the dead friend from 8th grade and not his aunt considering he still wrote some after he remembered the past with his aunt.

It was to his dead friend. shite got weird when you found out the aunt was molesting him

I assumed it was letters to his best friend who killed himself.

his friend that died before the movie began

Sam: Why do I and everyone I love pick people who treat us like we're nothing?
Charlie: We accept the love we think we deserve.
Best quote of the movie

Really good movie. Did not see the end coming.

I think it may have been one of my favorite films. Well rounded, which included stress from caring so much about the main characters
I'm going to have to read the novel

If you listen to some of the commentary on the DVD it is revealed that the letters are written to you, the viewer. Or in the case of the book, the reader.
So I guess for Charlie he was writing to no specific person

This movie was phenomenal
I have no idea how Logan Lerman didn't even get nominated for an award for his performance. As someone that has some similar traits as Charlie did, I found his mannerisms and expressions almost perfect. Almost scary how much he nailed it.

Charlie: How old were you when you had your first kiss?
Sam: 11
Charlie: Was he your first boyfriend too?
Sam: No, he was my Father's boss.
Such a WTF moment.
