I'm sorry, I don't buy into the bull shite that suck that tiger dick ruins fans experience. It adds to the atmosphere.

It's also gotten 2 of Tiger Band's songs taken away, possibly 3. Wonder why we don't really play anything "modern"?

totally agree the STTDB just like the Tiger Rag a-hole chant pushes the envelope but every single person, who's not a little stuck up prick, gets a kick out of it.

Ahhhh that explains your position.
Obscenity=good.
Absence from obscenity=not good.
People that use obscenities=good
People that would rather not hear a constant stream of it at football games=not good.

Not clever ,not funny- come up with something better. Sounds like 8th grade rebellion crap. Can't believe this bs caught on with our pseudo-intellectuals.

The worst part, to me, is that we lost Neck. It's one thing to expect to hear curse words at a football game. It's a totally different thing to keep adding curse words to good LSU traditions knowing that they will get banned.

It's embarassing and just idiotic.

Spare me the college kids dont know any better bs. I just graduated and I can see that any song students associate with extremely vulgar chants will go away and that while it isn't a church service, there's really no need to chant something like that when theres thousands of kids in the stadium. I can also see that it is a poor representation on the institution from which I received a diploma from. I felt this exact same way as a student as well.

Chanting "you suck" is fine and to be expected at sporting events but this chant is going too far.

Someone that is pro-STTDB, please enlighten me on how this chant is beneficial in any way? What pros result from it?

Everything you love about Tiger Stadium and every reason you get excited about night games at TS originates from behavior and atmosphere started decades ago. Yet, the younger "immature" students today are to blame. You gotta be kidding me.

The older fans with children who go to game and complain about the obscenities must have just been the sweetest little angels at night games at TS when they were at LSU. Where do you think students learn the behavior you older fans now cringe over?

That behavior is passed down from older students to younger students and has been that way since TS got its reputation decades ago. The chants may change (and some along the way are admittedly stupid) but the tradition of rowdiness and behavior remains the same. And to dismiss that behavior now as immature and stupid is completely hypocritical by those who don't understand they were the exact same way when they were students at LSU. Think about it. Where the frick do you think students at LSU learn its common to act like rowdy fools at TS? It's nothing new.

GTFO. While STTDB is stupid, you act like this is some new phenomenon. We've never been mistaken for Nebraska fans and there's a reason for that.

ETA: I'm not pro-STTDB. Simply stating that there's some very very hypocritical finger-pointing going on in this thread. And there always is when this gets brought up.

I'm not pro-STTDB, but I'm sure there are plenty of recruits that like it. Thousands of drunk and rowdy students yelling obscenities is a high school senior's dream. I don't chant it, but all the uproar is part of the reason it's popular. I do enjoy watching all the band nerds freak out after the students yell it

So what you are saying is that LSU football exists for the private use of the students and that all others are guests and should either bear with the behavior of the students or stay away?

Well there would be no LSU football without the students. It is "college" football

What really bothers me about STTDB is that it isn't clever, or even funny. Its vulgarity for the sake of being vulgar. If it made sense, that'd be one thing. But it doesn't, it's just a bunch of college kids who are now "adults" so they think its awesome to cuss in public.

& there would be no current facility and top tier program if it weren't for all those stuck up people with families who donate & pay $$ to the athletic program. Both are crucial to a top college program, & both should respect the other - not drop the stupid "I'm a college kid so I can say what I wanna" argument. Coming from a former collegr student, If it weren't for the "old people & families" you current college kids would just be drunk in a bar with no football program.

Which is what is so fricking childish about it.

Seriously, that is very child-like behavior. And I'm not some prude, either. I cuss more than I should probably.

But come on guys. You know it's the wrong to do, but because others get justifiably upset about it, you're going to do it anyway and see nothing wrong with that? Are we 18-22 or 8-12 years old?

Very true and good points, but there has to be a line drawn to determine what level of obscenity is acceptable. The admin has decided that orchestrated use of vulgarities during a song are not acceptable. The students now (just as in years past) have to learn what's acceptable and what's not, as determined by the authority. The authority that sees the big picture, not just the "fun" of dirty talk at a football game.
