Hold up. The roaring forks was open??

I was just there two weeks ago and there was no snow and the road to that trail was closed. I have been to Rainbow and Grotto before but didn't want to add the eight miles to the trip with roaring forks trail closed.

No. Cherokee Orchard Rd. was open to the Rainbow Falls trailhead/parking lot. They actually had it closed that morning until they could plow and salt the road. We didn't start the hike until about 11:30.

Apparently there's some formatting issue with iOS photos to a PC program that are then uploaded on tinypic.

Nice pics. I always liked hiking after a snow, you would see animal prints everywhere yet few animals.
Thought my 35mm batteries had died once, turned out to be the shutter was frozen shut.
