Looking at a sport dog system on amazon. Seems to be getting good reviews. Bad reviews seem to be people that just should not do anything on their own.

What's the difference between the ones I can buy vs the guys that come out and install.

The key is using a good wire. Don't use the cheap 20 gauge crap. Google diy underground dog fence and it will tell you all you need to know

Sport dog uses heavier solid core wire. The others use cheaper wire. Sport dog uses the 9 volt battery, while the others use more expensive batteries.

If you've got a day and an edger, and are able to follow directions, it's a simple but time consuming process.

If you are an old fat fricker who likes to drink cold beer on the weekend, don't do the install in August.

I had two Neapolitan. Really never wanted to go to far so I never had a need for a large fence area. I went to dogfencediy.com. Lots of good info so far

yes

Lost them in the last two years. I have a 2 year old now so I didn't get another one. They are just too big to be around small kids. Got a GSP now and need a good in ground fence so he can roam around during the day.

I do remember you posting a pic of yours, thats true! I have a bullmastiff.

Were they rough with you lil one? Mine is like a big baby with her. Every once in a while hell swap her with his paw on accident or roll around on the floor with her and put his arms around her like hes hugging her

He stays inside, but I let him out and keep my door open just a little and he usually opens it up with his nose and comes back inside. Hes ran off a few times, which is why Im considering the invisible fence as well.

I had found some for cheap on amazon, and Im thinking Im going to DIY as well.

We've had a Petsafe Wireless for several years and really like it.

Battery in collar needs replacing every 6 months or so but only like 8 bucks.
