For those who don't know, he's a 20 year-old, 6'8" SF from Tennessee, drafted 19th overall in 2011.

Stat rundown:
- averaging 20 ppg & 7 rbg in his first four in Orlando
- 32/46 (70%) from the floor
- 5/9 (56%) from 3
- 11/13 (85%) from the line
- just 5 turnovers in the 4 games

I definitely don't expect anything close to those numbers to persist, but he was an overlooked piece that may just have needed some minutes to develop. Seems like a good another good find by Orlando, a la Nik Vucevic.

I don't think those numbers are sustainable either, but I generally agree that he needed minutes to develop.

As a magic fan I am very happy about him. Also hawkless seems to becoming around.

Some very nice young pieces in Orlando.

I thought he should've stayed in college another year. I remember him being a huge get for Pearl at Tenn.

What did you think of his NBA potential coming out of UT? I didn't see him play much in college.

Well he isn't like an absurd athlete or anything, so he definitely has a ceiling. But he has a good handle, a good shot, good size, and he plays within himself. He isn't a banger down low; definitely more of a small forward than a power forward.

He's a really smart player. He seemed to really understand the game from his first game on. He averaged 15ppg his first year, but he was more of a steady player than a guy that made you go "wow".

He can and will be a very productive, efficient offensive player in the NBA if he gets minutes.

Defense is the big question mark.

I thought he showed great potential in the summer league this year.

I remember when I use to think Terrence Jones was better than Tobias. Ouch.

Then again...Jones needs a chance also..

Bill Simmons gave him props in his "best bargains" article on Grantland today.

quote:

Tobias Harris (Magic): 4 years, $9.25 million I remember watching the 20-year-old Harris look good in an early-November Bucks-Celtics game and thinking, Who the hell is Tobias Harris? Wasn't he in that goofy Sacramento/Milwaukee/Charlotte trade that somehow made all three teams worse? Turned out it was his best game of the season — Scott Skiles buried him in December and that was that. Then he ended up being Orlando's big haul in the Redick deal, and within 24 hours, the Magic were giving him Dwight Howard's old number. Intriguing talent.
