Just put my best buddy down. 16 year old lab. He was one bad duck retrieving machine in his day. Hardest thing was his wagging tail while I told him goodbye. My family will miss him.

Hate to hear that. My old buddy will be 12 in June. He's in good health, but I know I'll miss him at some point in the future which, no matter when, will be too soon. Best of luck and sorry for your loss.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that. 16 years is a long time.

Man, I literally shed a tear when I read the part of the tail wagging.

So sorry, but thank God you had one 16 years.

Long time for a lab.

May he rest in peace in the big duck blind in the sky.

That's rough. Be glad you had 16 years with him, that's a blessing.

Hate to hear that. That's a tough thing to do. We had to put ours down a few years ago. She was a great dog.

I've got one of her grand daughters now.

damn, i know that was tough. before our current dog, duke (12 years now), we had a black lab (barkley) for 11. i still find a little dust in the eye from time to time when thinking about him. my brother was an infant when we got him and he looked out for him/me. when we were really young, he would always stay between us and the road to keep us from wandering too far.
