Crabs in lacombe

Looking to take my son crabbing in the canoe off of lake road in lacombe. Is it too early to go or should we wait a few more weeks?

I would think it's too cold but I don't know.

Too cold and water is dark dark brown. Best to wait a while.

Closer to the lake the better (more salty)... not sure about this time of year though.
