Texted my inside buddy he says he is hearing two things:

1. It's either completely false and is just a report generated by the Jets to get more suitors

he also heard earlier today:

2. Saints have submitted an offer to the Jets that includes multiple players and multiple picks (doesnt know if all from 2013 draft) and he believes one of the players is Roman Harper. Also said the Saints would not do the deal unless Revis signs a mutli year contract and that the Jets informed the Saints Revis is in bad graces with the club and has expressed his interest of going to a club with an established offense and a contender. Buddy says this all makes sense because since Payton has been back his attitude is win now.win now. win now. and will do whatever it takes to do that....I know it sounds all hypothetical but he has been right on a few things since working there.

A buddy of mine plays golf with Rex Ryan's neighbor's wife's son and he heard Revis is 100% coming here. Just sayin.

Revis Island looking for a contender makes sense, but why would he care if the team had an established offense (since he's a defensive player and all)? 49ers make most sense to me right now.

Because it takes 2 sides to win. A good offense takes more pressure off a defense than anything.

I just expected him to say he wanted to play with an established defense rather than an established offense.

Why? Wanting to play with an established offense makes perfect sense. Defense wasn't the problem in New York, they're horrible offense was. He knows you need both sides to win and he knows hell take care of defense, he just wants some help for once in the other side of the ball.

As long we don't ship off all our picks this year and its mostly current players, I actually would be all for this.

It wouldn't make sense, to me, for him to go from a team with a terrible offense and good defense to a team with a good offense and terrible defense. I personally think the Saints would be wise to stay away from him and snag players at other positions of need. He's going to want to be paid a lot of money soon. The pass defense could improve simply by adding threats at pass rusher and on the defensive line.

Any team would take him.
Its only at what cost.
And who wouldn't want to leave the "raiders of the east"?

By giving those players you free all the cap money (even the dead money) correct?

So your buddy is hearing two complete opposite scenarios, which happen to be the only two possible scenarios?

quote:

he has been right on a few things since working there.

Well he's guaranteed to be 100% right on this one.

If we could find a way to make the trade and fit him under the cap without completely killing us in other positions, then I'm all in. Unfortunately I don't see that as being possible being that we have very limited cap space and draft picks (or players we can afford to give up that teams would want).

I would see giving the Jets some offensive parts in a trade, but Revis has been all over TV asking for all kinds of money. Probably cant afford him.

Not that I'd be willing to give up any offensive parts, I don't think any are even available but damn would it be nice to have a secondary that's worth a shite.

So something from someone most of us have never heard of that you cite as not trustworthy saying anything is "interesting"?

We have enough interesting characters around here already.

So I wonders, who is this guy? A cursory check brings me to an article entitled 'Is @incarceratedbob a complete fraud?'...

On actual “breaking reports” tweets, with specific information, Bob “broke” (or Tweeted before anyone else) the story little better than 2% of the time. A quick search of Twitter timelines shows that Bob simply copied the Tweets of some of his followers, nearly word for word, from a few minutes earlier. Some of those followers had knowingly sent Bob the information, some appeared to be blatantly plagiarized. Either way, Bob’s claim that he’s first is at best dubious as there is ample evidence to support he isn’t, and at worst outright fabrication (like many other things about him, as we shall see).

What Bob does with most of his “reports” are what is commonly referred to as weasel wording. Bob simply makes up a report, based on possible logical destinations of a player, parses his words so that he can go back later and claim that he wasn’t wrong.

In all my research on Bob, all I could come up with was a handful of good guesses, drowned out by a lot of fiction sprung from the mind of a shameless self promoter. His accuracy, despite the numbers he reports, is actually dismal. He is hardly the first one to tweet the things he does, as anyone who bothers to check the Twitter timeline can easily verify, and I can’t find anyone, outside of the anonymous confines of the internet, with anything positive to say about him.

more here if ya can take it

This is the fukked up part of the internet. Anyone can throw any shite against the wall and someone else will take it and run. Please we have to deal with enough tardation of posters much less interjecting larger scale drivel.
