After a disappointing combine people are expecting Moore to take a bit of a plunge. I want to know what Saints fans would want to do if he were available at 15. Say we have the choice between he and Werner.. Who would you guys want?

Just so we're not relying so heavily on Moore's combine numbers I'll put his next to Tamba Hali's when he was coming out.

Damontre Moore
6'4" 250 lbs
34 3/4" arms
4.87 40 yard dash
12 reps of 225
35 1/2" vertical
10'2" broad

Tamba Hali
6'2 267
33 3/8" arms
4.87 40 yard dash
18 reps of 225
30" vertical
8'10" broad

Werner isn't a 3-4 end, not a 3-4 OLB.

Yeah, he's got more versatility than i thought although he's still probably better suited for 43

Your continued and consistent obsession with me after all these years and after all of your post count reductions and change of posting lifestyles is truly flattering.

From what I've seen, Moore is projected as a 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB while Werner is just projected as a 4-3 DE.

Am I wrong about this?

Im not very high on Moore. He was the guy coming into the combine that people were extremely interested in seeing if he could play a 3-4 OLB. Had a bad combine, and tweaked a hammy which caused him to not participate in the LB and on the field drills. Nobody saw what he could do. TAMU had him at OLB for 1 year, and he did not produce. Then, they moved him back to DE with his hand in the dirt and he did great there last year. Huge questions about this kid that havent been answered.

And I think Werner is dropping out of the top 5 but will be gone by 10. He didnt have a great combine, wasnt terrible, but didnt blow people away. Hes a better football player than a athlete. I think Jordan and maybe even Mingo will go ahead of him. Still will be a good player, but a lot of teams in the top 10 are 3-4 teams.

no player lost as many millions as did Moore at the Combine. Judgement reserved until after his Pro Day. At this point he looks too small for a 43DE and too slow for a 34OLB. Dig deeper into his stats and performance and you'll find a lot of fluff. Today I'd say the Saints would pass on him even if he was on the board.

Werner's stock has dropped but not so much. I don't see anyone projecting him as a 34OLB. So really more of a non-issue.
