I know there's a few guys with 6.7s and a hand full of diesel enthusiast around here. H&S Performance will be live streaming in about 30 minutes as they plan to see just how much power a 6.7 can handle. They'll have it strapped to the dyno and push it until something finally breaks. The truck is all stock internals/transmission. Only mods being an upgraded single turbo setup and a custom high pressure fuel system. And of course their tuning/DPF Delete, etc.

I'm kinda interested to see how this goes and exactly what the weakest point will be. Must be nice to be able to blow up a $60,000 truck in the name of R&D.

This should be the link to the Live Stream. I think they're going to start at 1:30

Head studs stretch
Head gaskets
Clutches(depends what they do for the test)

In that order. Been down that road already

IIRC, they have only been able to get 120hp from the 6.7 tuners

Curious on this as well. I wonder if the plan to make a run, let it cool a bit, then make another run until something dies....or make a run, up the spray, make a run, up the spray and repeat process until something lets loose. I'd imagine hot lapping it like that would make for even more stress.

ETA: Did you blow a 6.4 or a 6.7?

6.4

Depending on how they test also, they could jack up EGTs and burn up the motor

It just all depends on how they test it really. Constant load vs stop and go is a big variance and affects different parts, but with a bigger single turbo and a tuner, I am guessing head gaskets go first

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. You would think the "prep" work could have been completed prior to go time.

Not yet...they just ran it up to 700hp. Swapping in a bigger jet for the spray and they're going to run it again in a few minutes.

So they aren't running a constant load for a while? My guess now is transmission clutches

Doesn't look like it. Just a dyno run, swap nitrous jets, then run again. The just did 3 consecutive runs of 700+ and had to swap solenoids for the nitrous. Just had a 750hp run.

ETA: 1445tq at 2500RPM.
