Please, give them their dreams. For the past several years, they loved nothing more than announcing as fact that any productive play on O was due to 'talent' and all bad things were because, you know, Les Miles. So long as D was awesome (which it was), they kept their little mouths shut...only to sometimes mumble about D being Chavis's gig and that Les Miles stayed out of it, which was obviously why it was so good. Now that there's a HINT of something bad about D, it's not due to Chavis at all (despite YEARS of saying the awesome D was 100% Chief)...NOW they finally have something on D to bash Les Miles about.
Figure it out. If something good on O, D, special teams, a fricking tailgate happens, it = talent or position coach. Everything bad...from shitty QB play to WR's whiffing on blocks to Sam Montgomery taking games off to your tailgate sucking arse, it's all because of Les Effing Miles.
I heard the broken windows and that effing white pipe around the stadium was all because of Miles, too. Bastard.

Some of you defenders act like Miles is the program. How quickly you will turn on players, Chavis, Stud etc....just to deflect attention.
Montgomery taking plays off don't necessarily reflect on anyone but Montgomery

Yes, Big Sam taking off is all on Big Sam. I don't think I 'turned on him'. He admitted he had an issue putting in his full effort for certain teams. I credit him for being honest, but if I were a pro GM, I'd look twice before drafting him...and I LOVE Big Sam as a fan.
After Big Sam, the chain of command goes to his position coach, DC, HC. By all appearances, the coaches punished him for slacking during the season. I don't understand what they could have or should have done differently to make him focus.

Sam opened his mouth and stuck his foot down his throat.
That's not turning on him, that's kicking him in the arse for making a freaking stupid statement at NFL draft time.
If we really need to find someone to blame for a player who has moved on deciding he needed to rest between the lines sometimes and tell the world he rested, I suggest we look at the guy doing the resting.

Maybe this young man realized that his career could be built on playing football. His decision could have been based on possibly blowing a knee or shoulder on a game we were going to win anyway. I find it strange that people are ripping a young man and some extent a defense that carried this team for years.
Sam was there and played well during an undefeated season and two others seasons with limited offensive production. Maybe it was a call based on getting him to the next level in decent enough shape to have a career after LSU.
All I can do is wish Sam the best for many years to come. More often than not Sam left it on the field. This young man was part of the best defense in college football and for that I am thankful to have spent many nights in Tiger Stadium watching him kick some arse.
Good luck Sonic....and thanks for memories.
