A lot of bracketologiest are starting to think the SEC can get 4 or even 5 in. Really a pretty big turnaround in the last week. LSU is still nowhere near bubble, but I have heard Florida, Tenn, Kentucky, Missouri, and even Alabama getting a look at a possible birth.

There's 4 teams on life support right now in Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Kentucky. I dont think any of them can afford to lose 1 more game going out here. Missouri can probably afford to lose 1 more, but not 2 more. I think it's unreasonable to expect 2 of those 4 teams on life support win out, but I think 1 can.

This saturday will be huge for Missouri, Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee.

I think if UK, Bama and Tennessee lose, they are out. Missouri can barely afford a home loss right now to us, but they can survive it. Right now, I still only see 2 SEC teams getting in with a third being a possibility if they win the SECT.

Alabama has @ Florida, @ Ole Miss, UGA
Kentucky has @ Arkansas, @ UGA, UF
Ole Miss has @ MSU, Bama, @ LSU
Mizzou has LSU, Ark, @ TN
TN has @ UGA, @ AU, Mizzou

I mean, it really looks like they all lose 1 more game. Which wouldn't kill Mizzou, but the rest it would...Tennessee has best chance to finish out undefeated IMO.

It also comes down to conference tourney upsets that takes an at-large bid away from bubble teams. That's always an unknown.

It's starting to look like the SECT will be critical for several teams.

This, if there's 3-4 more lower RPI teams than expected win their conference tourneys, that kills bubble teams.

I disagree with the sentiment that we have to win the conference tournament. The SEC may be down, but it still has some serious influence. Putting all your eggs in the RPI basket is ridiculous.

If LSU gets 22-23 wins they likely sneak in. Go ahead and bitch about it now if you want, but that's one of the benefits of being in a major conference

20 wins aint what it use to be old timer.
It would be a longshot, I agree. 22 wins means we win out the season (including getting a quality win @ Mizzou, who hasn't lost at home this season), finishing 11-7 in conference while closing the season 11-3, and winning 2 games in the conference tourney; OR losing to Mizzou and then running to the conference title game.

23 wins would mean we win out all the way and lose in the title game.

23 I think gets us in. 22 is way more risky, I think it would be better to beat Mizzou and lose in the semis (unless it's to Mizzou in that game).

I don't think we're competing against Missouri for a spot, but I think we absolutely need to beat them again in order to gain any serious consideration.

If you guys want to scream "no fricking way" then that's fine. I want to have a little hope for the postseason, especially if we run the table.

There's plenty of hope for the NIT but an at-large tourney bid is a pipedream.
