Saw they will be in the old Blockbuster on Seigen. Anyone know the story? If they have a good store and better service than EW they should do well.

I'm friends with the owner and his family and I've seen the shite they're ordering and the master plan for the building/ business plan. It's going to be the top golf store in BR.

Standalone golf stores in today's world (especially in a terrible golf market in Louisiana) are a terrible investment unless you're able to fulfill a ton of internet orders

Highly doubt that.

I could see that. Not a lot of people are happy with EW, and many who hated them went to Golf Etc. off of Essen where the Manager was a fricking tard.

If this place is managed well, it will do a lot better than people think. Plus, many of the golfers who spend money on the sport are on the Seigan side of town anyway.

Explain to me what I said was dumb? Unless you have name recognition and internet orders (i.e. Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, Lumpy's), it's a terrible investment (And even they are closing stores). People try opening franchises of Golf Etc. all the time. They all fail. And the cost and overhead of being able to secure contracts with someone like Titleist is not fun, because they are very specific if you're able to get a deal.

Or if you want to try and defend Louisiana as a good golf market to me, go ahead and try that out.

Their is no good club repair guy anymore. Blain Patin was the only one I would let touch my clubs. I have started my own setup in FL and plan on taking it back to BR in a couple years. I landed a few mini tour players and now they wont let anyone else work on their stuff. A good custom fitter is a huge asset.

Now for the retail side - There are so many ways to save, box store are really struggling. Discount Dans is the best place to buy clubs. Way less than any other shops with no tax or shipping. Items come from manufacturer.

Golfers BR need shop with an outdoor range. This way you can hit shots and actually see the flight. Trackman is a must for BR also.

The smartest thing he did was find a building closer to CCLA than EW!

Box stores thrive on the average golfer. If you really want to give yourself the best chance of playing well you do not walk into a box store and buy something. If you care about golf you work with an instructor and a fitter to have a set built just for you.

True...but most "golfers" who do care that much can't afford to spend $2000+ on a set by getting fitted. The average golfer wants to spend around $300-$500 for a set that will last them 3 years then spend a little extra to get them fitted to their set!

Golfsmith is the only way to go. Do they not have any in Louisiana?

Right. He can't say that if you don't get a set built and get fitted, you don't care.

This is true problem. Clubs need to be correct length, lie, and loft to get the most out of them.

Not saying it's the best investment in the world, but in Golf Etc. defense, like I stated before, they had terrible management - like drive you away bad management.
