if we give austin 2 years to grow, he will be 22 years old. Rivers has the same athletic abilities as dwill and they kind of play the same

Nice comparison, D Will started slow as well. Though not as slow as Rivers but I believe he was in college for multiple years.

I really don't see their games as that similar.

D-Will is 10000000000000000000000000000x better than Rivers...not even on the same level talent wise...you will NEVER see Rivers play Team USA caliber basketball.

this thread is turrible

im saying athletically and the way they play are similar. im not saying that he is a good or will be as good or if he will be better, all im saying is that they are similar in the way they play basketball.

Rivers ceiling as one of the best PGs in the league? No

I see him as a Lou Williams... A guard with no specific position, a scorer who can handle the PG if needed

he will never be thought of as a top PG in the NBA, IMO

Not a huge fan of Rivers because I believe he might have hurt his development. He seems like a guy that needed to be nurtured a lot more. If he would have stayed at duke it would have either showed his weaknesses, or he would have gotten a hell of a lot better under coach K. That 1 year did nothing for him...he's still in his AAU state of mind.

Well all Brown does is dunk. Rivers has no NBA dunks. So...

D-Will is a big guard that uses his size to put smaller PGs in the post. Rivers will never be that.

D-will is a better shooter but austin is quicker than a hiccup. More than Williams ever was. But i think Austin can become a better scorer. I call shooters and scorers different types.

Wow, I really see them as complete opposites. Rivers is supposed to be quick and agile, Williams is bigger and slower. D-Will can shoot, Rivers can't. Weird thread.

this is true. but williams can shoot, rivers can score. he hasnt done a lot but its clear that he has it. dude gets in the lane at will. he just needs to get stronger to finish his drives.

Combine Numbers for each player.

Williams - 6'3" 202 lbs @ 21 years old
Came in to the league after his Junior year of college

Rivers - 6'5" 203 lbs @ 19 years old
Came in after freshman year.

And I am not saying they are anything alike on the court just saying the size point is stupid, but Rivers will improve a lot by the time he reaches what would be his "senior" year of college.
