what leads you to believe rogers would have done anything?
I really hope you're not being serious
The fact that you're saying Rodgers is a system quarterback is a troll in itself

where did i say that?
bad systems with no OL/WR talent will kill young QBs. tim couch/david carr syndrome
good OL/WR talent and solid offensive systems will win you a super bowl with a mediocre QB (see: big ben/flacco)

rogers was tutored under a great offensive mind, in a great offensive system.
you're implying he became a great quarterback in Green Bay because of McCarthy and the system he ran
then you said he wouldn't do shite in a place like SF, because that environment isn't conducive for successful QBs, whatever that means.

Well8 OCs in 8 years or whatever it was isnt very conducive for successful QBs

And Matthew Stafford to Detroit's black hole of a franchise is? He's done well for himself thus far.
Even Bradford hasn't been as bad as Smith
If Smith was a third-round QB, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Smith is a game-manager that scouts mislabeled as a great QB coming out of college. You don't take a QB who is methodical with the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Use the excuses all you want. Smith just isn't the guy.

Davis was a young hot head same with crab. Both needed a strong father figure type and some growing up. MOss is too tired to be a frick up.
revis is a vet and still a headache. Coming from a coach who is a horrible role model. I'd take a pass on him. Too much baggage. Bigger downside then upside. I could be wrong because look at AP but AP is not Revis.

The Rodgers who started in 2008 wasn't the same QB they drafted. He had a lot of work put into him, and he still took him a while to break out - I.E. It took more than one year of playing after 3 years of training.
If you swap it around and let Rodgers play under McCarthy for that first year in SF, he'd have gotten fricked up just as bad.

Smith's numbers have been around the same, with or without Harbaugh
My point is, he's not a franchise QB. He's a sold NFL starter who doesn't turn the ball over and manages the game while the team wins on defense, special teams and the run game.
Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Manning(s), Flacco now, they all win games. Smith plays not to lose games. There's a huge difference. It has nothing to do with the system or environment, he's just not a great QB

In 3 seasons he has played a full season before Harbaugh he had a 74.8, 81.5, and 82.1 QB Rating
In 2 seasons with Harbaugh he has 90.7 and 104.1 QB Rating....
He has only thrown over 375 attempts twice in his entire career.....

I meant production. I don't care about ratings.
SF as a whole has been better the past two years, not because of Smith. The running game is dominant and the defense improved, allowing Smith to be successful.

flacco now? what the frick?

non-rookie QB rating pre-harbaugh
74.8
57.2
81.5
82.1
QB rating under harbaugh
90.7
104.1
yup, no difference
flacco this year threw for 22 TDs. Smith threw for 17 last year.
flacco this year had a 7.19 ypa while smith had a 7.07 ypa last year (and 7.97 ypa this year)
smith wins completion rate in both years
smith bests flacco in QB rating by about 10 points in each year

what do you think leads to QB ratings?

that formula + a mediocre QB just won the super bowl, and not only won the super bowl last year, but 2 other teams who lasted late in the playoffs used this formula

yes. being able to sit and learn the position under a great QB tutor will lead to improvement. this isn't rocket science

shitty coaching
shitty offensive talent around him (namely OL)
it's not rocket science

Flacco, Eli and Big Ben aren't game-managers though.
Everyone is missing the point
They play to win. Smith plays not to lose. He's smart and never turns the ball over because he doesn't take risks. He plays through defense and his running game.
Baltimore doesn't beat SF without Flacco's arm. The running game went to shite.
NYG doesn't beat NE without the throw's Eli made.
I can go on and on for days
