Will Josh Brolin pull off "Oldboy" remake as the lead

I'm really looking forward to this movie.
Yes, Spike Lee is directing it....BUT BEFORE YOU SAY HELL NO!
Spike's "mainstream" or non race agenda movies...are pretty good.
25th Hour (one of my favorite movies in the last 15 years)
Son of Sam, Inside Man.
So I think he can pull it off.
But do you think Brolin can pull it off the lead role in a film like this?

Brolin was AWESOME in Goonies. HE should be able to nail this one. What is Oldboy about?
