Was reading on the advocate today and one of the sponsored links was to an article by the AARP on America's top 5 football stadiums. I clicked to see if the AARP slighted my favorite place on earth. I was ready to get pissed off when I saw Notre Dame and Michigan as the first two colleges on list, but low and behold number 4 was Tiger Stadium. Here os the quote from the article if anyone cares:

quote:

Built in 1924, the stadium of Louisiana State University's Tigers is one of the South's biggest, with a maximum capacity of more than 90,000. It's also one of the loudest stadiums. Known alternately as "Death Valley" and "Deaf Valley," the game-day atmosphere here is not only electric but, thanks to the cheering home fans, so supercharged (the volume has hit a painful 130 decibels) that visiting coaches and players say it's the worst place to be the away team.

Why is notre dame s till on the top 5, it doesn't matter how good your stadium is if you suck.

Because all the readers of the AARP magazine are old enough to remember ND when they WERE relevant. It's just material that caters to their demographic.

It's not that, it's the whole damn media. They are always mentioned no matter what. Great older history turned into big name brand turned into first team with their own network contract.

Lots of $$$ wrapped up in them.

and Jeff, your link is bad. Try this one... LINK

#5 is a HIGH SCHOOL in AZ?

Beano Cook once remarked that college football is always better when Notre Dame is relevant.
