Tyrann tied for the most tackles on the team and showed that he could come down hill and make a tackle. Don't understand how a weak bench press = a bad cornerback. The reason he was called Honey Badger is cause he was small lol, so I don't see how it is surprising to see him only do 4 reps. I don't see TM benching 5 more reps would make him a better cornerback.

I think that every person on here should start their a thread with their opinion on the effect of the bench press at the combine.

Ford did 25 reps. Explain that.

Fords a freak in the weight room, but not a football player. I'd rather a beast on the field than a beast in the weight room.

IMO, he shouldn't have lifted.

I don't really care about his bench, he was straight solid on the field. That was evident, he bossed out there.

Still rooting for ya, come to the great state of TX

He has been training for speed, and was willing to sacrifice strength to get there. There are obviously concerns about his character, and also concerns about his size. He needed to eliminate concerns about his speed. It sounds like he did that.

ell he is compact while TM7 is long and slender....

Plus Adrian Bushell is 5'9" 186 and did 17
Robert Alford (SELU) is 5'10" 188 and did 17
Mike Edwards is 5'9" 191 and did 14

Demetrius McCray had a horrible bench at 4 as well and has a bigger size so that is even more embarrassing....

BTW isn't forum sites all for opinions? LOL. It gets really annoying when people complain about forums. Just stfu and don't comment if you don't like the forum. Take that bitching somewhere else please.

I think the issue is not that he only lifted 4, but that teams use the bench as an evaluator of a guy's work ethic in the weight room. Naturally people will jump to the conclusion that he hasn't been working that hard, but as someone else said, for all we know he could've been training for speed or something.

I agree though with what your saying. But Mathieu was working hard with Peterson.
