For my money, I'm going to trust a proven newspaper like the TP over some website any day. The idea that the pay sites are a beacon of journalistic integrity is absolutely laughable. I'm not up to speed on what all is going on in this situation (I'm a newbie here and am really just getting my feet wet), but as a general rule I'll take a media outlet with several Pulitzer Prizes over any recruiting pay site. But that's just me.

TP's real trustworthy, bro. They've fallen a long ways from winning Pulitzer's after Katrina & for the investigations regarding casino's during the Edwards years.

The main paysites-BBI & Geaux 247-have either bought their way into their insiders having information (BBI) or developed a long track-record of doing the right thing and holding water when necessary with the LSU Staff.

As a result of different means, they have the same ends. If either one of those outlets reports it, then I'd trust it.

Beyond that, any outfit that hires Randy Rosetta's dumbass shouldn't be trusted. Anyone watching when he took the reigns at Tiger Sports Digest from Sonny & then Shea and didn't have a striking sense that he must've taken blimp-flying lessons from the captain of the Hindenberg is ignorant.

Leaks are almost never the coaching staffs because they have no incentive whatsoever to do so. And without a doubt, regardless of whose fault today's was, paysites are the worst with this because being "first" is how they get customers.

There didn't use to be a hat ceremony for every single recruit and I think the recruits are going to have to make an effort on their part if they want it to be suspenseful. We're not going back to the old way of news being distributed - ie the evening news or the morning paper. If you tell someone - no matter who - there is a chance it leaks and ends up on twitter and then it's everywhere. And the only person that can truly control that is the one announcing his decision. If you want the attention, it's simply your responsibility to hold the info close.

Pretty sad when you have to get a 17 year old kid to excuse you for your mistakes.
