What would be our seed IF we get hot at the sec tourney avoid Florida an win it get the automatic seed? I would think 10-12. I honestly believe we can upset a 5-7 seed as long as its not say a butler or unc type team who are likely to be seeded around there. What y'all think besides saying its impossible

Really scared of Florida? After watching their last 2 games, if they're off from the perimeter they can be beat.

Their is not a team in the SEC we can't beat if we are playing our best. If we show up to the tournament and take care of business, we could earn ourselves a birth to the big dance.

Well unc is almost in the top 25 they will make semis in acc tourney so prolly 23ish wins so yea prolly a 5-7 seed like I said not crazy that means they are a top 28 team in the country for a 7 seed

We'd be between a 8-11 if we won the SEC tourney. It would be all but impossible...but, would be really cool to witness.

And yea Florida has been raping almost everyone on there schedule especially sec teams so yea I'm scared to play , unless they are unmotivated because they already have the number seed locked up which they could possibly know by the semis depending on how the other tournament shape up. Big ten tournament will be fun to watch as well as the A10 tourney best two conferences this year easily. Feels funny to say but big12 , acc, and big east are all down compared to years past even what little contenders PAC 10 usually has they don't have anyone head an shoulders above the others

If we win the SEC Tourney, I have to believe we would be an 11 seed.

I don't know. Georgia had a terrible record the year they won the SEC tournament and they were a 14 seed.

11 at the highest, 14 at the worst.

Wasn't that the year the GA Dome got damaged?

I think it is hard to swallow that the RPI shows big 10 is so insanely powerful, and the SEC is so weak.

But yeah, I think you are looking at LSU being an 8-9 seed if they win the SEC tourney. Not tourney champs = NIT.

no. they're a 10 seed right now. they would have to win the acc tournament to even sniff a 5 seed.

Yes. They had to win 2 games in one day. Pretty impressive.

IMO winning the SEC is our only chance, even then we still may not go. Im banking on the NIT

Let's play "pick your brackets and look for your Cinderella teams" for a second.

If LSU were to make the run through the conference tourney, we then would have 20+ wins, a hot streak to close the season, and a legit big-time player (O'Bryant is 6'8" and has a bunch of double-doubles).

If someone from another conference had that resume (say it was Cal, or Wisconsin, or Texas), you'd be thinking 8-9 seed, and damn dangerous 2nd round opponent. FWIW, I don't know any of those team's records or whether they're any good. My point is, if you put another school's jerseys on the current LSU team and they finish out strong like the OP suggests, that's where I would expect to see them.
