He's still fairly new to football. That'll get coached out of him quick.
Dude might be special in the league.

he's already really old. he doesn't have much time to improve

He looks the part. Has all the measureables. Just depends on how long a team will wait for him to learn. But man he's got it all physically.
1st group is still doing drills on the field. Group 2 is about to take the field. Some big time prospects in group 2.

25 is really old? OK.
Not exactly Brandon Weeden out there.

Edwards is running LB drills. The old TE in him is being showcased.

Lavar looked really smooth catching that ball. I've said for a while that he may endo up having as good of a career as Mingo or Sam. He was such a consistant contributor for so long in college.

Unless you're comparing him to a junior coming out early, it's more like 1-2 years.

that's still a big thing, especially for a guy who didn't really prove much in college as a DE

He's looking as good as any of them right now.

actually, we were watching an SMU game together (wife's cousin) and I thought the exact same thing.

Not so fast.....25 with a low SERVICE life really negates the chronological angle. It's more about the miles than the model year....

Damn shame putting Toonces as the logo

Agree. Edwards is looking very good right now. Great at catching the ball with his hands and not in his body. Lavar might not be as highly advertised at Mingo or Monty, but whoever takes him between 3-5 will be getting a good player that can contribute immediately, and he's an even better teammate. He will play whatever position coaches ask him and will be a great special teamer.

either his agent is smart as frick or he's a really driven guy. really good choice here for sure

Exactly. More upside with the SMU guy than your typical overaged football player.

i've always thought that he's going to stick around the NFL for a bit. he's a really good athlete who did a bunch of crap at LSU pretty well. we just happened to recruit 2 studs after him so he had to become a rotational guy

but he was still an older guy going up against kids 5-7 years younger than him, in an inferior conference, while being an athletic stud. you'd expect him to put up some major production in college and it's not there
he's already entering his athletic peak while still being raw as hell. that's the issue
