Yes you did. All your threads on the SEC Rant are for trolling. No one is going to bite

How do you think it would go if I went to aggie land thread and said hey I think one of y'all's best recruits isn't really good, I watched a film and he didn't do a backflip so I'm not impressed

You'll note from several comments I've made that I'm not contending his elite status. The offer list precludes any real argument in that regard.

I just find it a little peculiar that he doesn't jump out on the film. But maybe his qualities aren't as easily detectable to the untrained eye? I was thinking someone could offer some clarification.

I am a self-professed troll--no doubt about it. But I don't ever try to hide the ball, and I don't troll on boards that specifically prohibit it.

I'm not trolling here. And I wasn't trolling on the last SECR thread.

We have given specific reasons why he is every bit deserving of those 5 stars. You are just ignoring it.

He is super fluid shedding blockers to make tackles like they are the plague
Quick feet, fluid hips.
Very good speed

He is playing way out of position as a safety but he is solid on coverage when its needed.

I personally like how well he adjusts to plays the most.

Sometimes athletes are rated on potential.

He doesn't have the greatest film in the world, youre right. But he shuts down the best in the country at every camp he attends.

So Paris isn't in your discussion ?

I thought Paris was a safety?? If he's a CB, than yes. Paris in a landslide.

Big Lake, appreciate the response.

Is it the general thought that he's amassed his offers/rating because of camp performances?

Thats true for almost everyone. Camps are far more important than game film. Game film is used more for intangibles.

He's not a safety. He plays majority of the game at safety. When hes playing CB lining up 1 on 1 against the best WR's in the nation, he shows out.

I've never really grasped that, I guess.

But this would explain why Tony's garnered the hype notwithstanding what some (including me) don't see on film.

That's what I was looking to get from the thread. Thanks.

Good deal. Thanks.

And just for future reference, when I start another seemingly awful troll thread, you can probably assume it's awful because it's not intended to troll.

I work in Beaumont and know several people that have seen every snap he's played. Consensus opinion is cover skills and hitting in secondary is elite, his biggest drawback is he will ole some head up hits in run support. Doesn't like to take on bigger backs one on one.

I don't mind opposing fans who want to engage in legitimate discussion about a prospect.

I wish I could see more of his coverage skills in film.

I honestly want to know what film you are watching. I am more or less limited to highlight videos on Rivals, in which he looks pretty good. and other videos that talk about how good he looked at camps.

I guess that's what I sort of notice on film. I don't see him striking through ball carriers. He doesn't appear all that "sudden," if you will.

But that's not a necessary trait of an elite corner. Need to keep in mind he's playing out of position a lot.

Right. I would much rather him be lockdown on the outside than a soul crushing tackler at the los if I had to choose.

LINK
This is sophomore film. I'll go grab some junior tape.

It's not that he looks bad, and you're right, he looks "pretty good." But I've just not seen all-world 5 star stuff.
