Been following this since it happened. Interested in seeing what comes of it. Would you stop patronizing WF?

2 points:

1. The open carrier needs to learn better situational awareness and weapons retention is he wants to continue to open carry

2. The cop handled the situation completely wrong IMO, if it went down as the guy reports it

These were addressed in the thread. He got some heat for letting someone come and take his gun away. He also got legal counsel and has vowed to donate any awarded $$ to promote 2nd A and NRA...etc

I felt like the manager thought the officer over-reacted. She tried to de-escalate. Asked him how the dog was.

I get enough dirty looks when I go in there without open carrying.

I saw this video a few weeks ago.

The cop was absolutely in the wrong and knows it. They are some power-hungry douche cops in NOLA. Obviously this doesn't go for all of them, but some of them are only a notch above CA or NY cops.

I am actually shocked the cop didn't steal his gun. That's SOP for New Orleans cops.

There are some pretty good reads on that site. Over the years some are good and some like this are bad. Most part open cary goes over well

Went to the gun show today. There wasn't shite there unless you were looking for something Tactical.

Did find the last 2 remaining boxes of 10mm though...

I've watched several of the Open Carry stops like the one in the other thread on YouTube and it is crazy how the cops act when they are called out on it.They end up just letting them go. I would never OC. I don't want to attract attention to myself and would rather just keep out of the limelight. But there are people out there walking around packing holding their cellphone waiting for the police to arrive. I don't agree with that.

"and you're in new orleans... everything changes."

That cop spoke the truth with that.

But all things considered, why do people open carry? Just draws unnecessary attention to yourself.
