They are two bands to me: pre-Document, and post-LRP. The first is possibly my favorite band of all time. The second I don't really care about other than a handfull of songs.

One of my favorite bands of all time. I've grown up with them, and was very disappointed when they broke up, even if their later stuff wasn't as good as the early stuff.

I thought their last 2 efforts were very strong and enjoyable, though (Accelerate and Collapse Into Now), and thought they may have caught some new life before they decided to call it quits.

Don't think I could rank the albums, but Lifes Rich Pageant is probably the one that means the most to me. New Adventures in Hi-Fi is probably the most underrated, and Automatic for the People, for me, is the strongest.

Recently started listening to Monster again, which disappointed me when it was released, but it has grown on me over time.

Automatic for the People is the one that made me stop buying their albums. I really should have given up earlier, but I had hope.

Wow, I'm surprised. Most of my music friends and, I seem to remember, critics, thought this was a great surge in their career. But of course, we all have our opinions.

I'm sort of this way except I considered the IRS Records REM and the Warner Bros REM. I still think Green is an excellent album. Out of time should be scratched from their discography even though I see their purpose behind it. I'd say Automatic is a great too adn I didn't bother so much with Monster.

I did a few years back get into Reveal and think it's ok. But I'll just stick with their early stuff.

Lots loved it. I was just not one of them. I do like Man On The Moon and Nightswimming though.

I don't mint out of time or automatic, but I wouldn't put it up there with the IRS output... Monster is where they lost me and I haven't bought a record since... Although I've heard some Ok songs since

My favorites would have to be Automatic for the People and Life's Rich Pageant

That's probably the best way to divide the different eras.

There are some great tracks on Green, but I found it to be a little uneven.

For me, Out of Time is forever tainted by the abortion of an opening track (Radio Song) and the overplayed Losing My Religion (good song that got played into the ground). Because of that, it's probably my least favorite. Belong and Texarkana are solid, but lost in the shuffle. I don't even have that album on my iPod.

My exact thinking too. WTF was that track? At the time, I see they were taking their shots but KRS1's
"ALL THEIR LIFE, RAAAADIOOOOO LISTERNERS!!!!" line about kills me.

Me in Honey isn't bad. Good harmony with Kate Pierson.

I went to Sound Warehouse with a good friend of mine to get the cassette on the day it came out. We popped it in his tape deck, and were absolutely stunned.

Anything after that song was completely ruined for me!

Any Connells post gets a like from me Love that song btw. I own more from these two than any other band. Except maybe the Ramones.
