Making some BBQ shrimp tonight and want to get a good (fresh) loaf of French bread- but the flaky New Orleans style that goes so well with the dish. Where should I head in BR to get some?

Is this the big thick bread that is like eating a piece of styrofoam/ cardboard box combo you speak of?

Calandro's carries both reising and leidenheimer's.

I prefer the French bread from Poupart Bakery in Lafayette but you can get Leidenheimers and Reisings at Calvin's Bocage Market. They often run out so it might be worth a call first.

Layabout is right. Calvin's carries Poupart's, but Sunday may not be the best day to get it.

Mathernes has it, I saw last night.

I made crawfish bread last night and just used some from my work since I work for a Poboy joint.
