Sounds like Monty might know something about our offseason plans

quote:

@Jim_Eichenhofer: Monty on long-term roster: "I like our guys, but this is not the team we’re going to end up with... We’re obviously going to add players."

quote:

@Jim_Eichenhofer: Monty on no deadline moves: "It’s certainly not a statement that we’re going to be the same team come next year. We certainly won’t be that”

Can't wait to see dealin' Dell work his magic this offseason.

Also, some Dell quotes:
quote:

@Jim_Eichenhofer: Dell Demps on roster and NOLA evaluation: "We like our young group right now. It will be interesting to see how we finish out the season.”

quote:

@Jim_Eichenhofer: Dell Demps on not making a trade at deadline: "I didn’t think anything that was available would make us better for the long term.”

It's a good thing that Dell doesn't make trades just for the sake of making them, even though some fans were annoyed that we were inactive.

Yeah the first quote is pretty general but the second just seems way too absolute for there not to be something behind it.

He's stating the obvious. Teams change every year, and a team that has 19 wins a few games after the All-Star Break is obviously going to have some turnover.

Several guys are RFAs or UFAs, and the depth on this team is pretty shitty.

They have a player to build around: Davis. They have another very good player in Ryan Anderson to contribute to the rebuild. And they have a wildcard borderline "elite" player in Gordon that could either drastically accelerate the rebuild by getting healthy or bring in some key pieces as part of a trade.

They will have a high lottery pick.

And they will have much $$$ to play with.

Obviously there will be at least 4-5 new faces.

Our boy Stern probably gave Monty and Dell the "wink and the gun" about hooking us up with the #1 pick again.

He needs to get his successor to hook us up with the #1 next year to get Andrew Wiggins.

First team with three straight #1s. Anthony Davis at the 4, Ben McLemore at the 2, Andrew Wiggins at the 3. SHIP

Nah, it was with Mr Benson as part of the team sale deal. Mr B just paid a lil extra cash!

I'd rather he do it in 2 years when Jabari Parker enters the draft.
